The Jewish new year is upon us. While I haven't had as much time to write recently, I couldn't let this holiday go by without wishing us all a sweet new year.
Living in Israel is like a roller coaster ride. You live your daily live in peace in a beautiful country and yet there is always a feeling of unresolved issues lurking below the surface.
This feeling has intensified over the last 2 years as regimes toppled in surrounding countries. Toppled only to come back again in slighly different format. It feels as if Israel is an island of peace in a region that's burning.
Yesterday it seems that the US is about to strike back at Syria in response to Assad's use of chemical weapons. Today we woke up to find out that war will not start just yet.
So when you live like this you learn to appreciate the small things, the things you can control. I wish you all a sweet and happy new year. A year of peace, a year of fun, a year of sweet wines, a year of innovation and inventions, a year of prosperity.
